Ideal Checklist/Timeline

To join a sorority, you must follow the procedures required on your campus. You must register with your College Panhellenic Association in order to participate in formal recruitment. Most sorority chapters invite all of their members to join during a formal recruitment period. The time this occurs varies from campus to campus.

1) Contact your campus College Panhellenic Association for information about formal recruitment. Find out the deadline to register, the dates of the formal recruitment period, and what information the campus will ask you to submit. Click here for contact information for Texas schools and some out of state schools.

2) During February or March, assemble a summary of high school and community activities, gather photographs, request a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) and work on a resume. For suggestions about what to include, see Potential New Member Profile Packet.

3) Attend the NWHCAP Information Night Tuesday April 15, 2008, 7:00 pm, at Cypress Creek High School to learn more about sorority membership and the membership selection process. Bring your parents with you so that they can ask questions and learn more about the process, too. The list given under "Potential New Member Registration " shows the number needed for Texas schools and some popular out-of-state schools.  This number may be fewer than the actual number of NPC sororities on your campus due to the fact that not all NPC sororities are members of NWHCAP.

4) After the Information Night you should have enough information to complete registration.  Be sure to check the box allowing distribution of the registration information.

5) Be sure you know the procedure for registration on your campus. Know what materials/ information you need to submit such as photos, transcripts, fees, social resume, etc., and when it is due. Contact the college Panhellenic on your chosen campus to sign up for recruitment. Register now if registration is open.

6) Attend the NWHCAP Sorority Night on Monday, May 12, 2008, 7:00 pm, at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner-Airline (Champion Forest Baptist Church Student Ministry Building, corner of Strack Rd . and Latson Rd. across from Redd School). This will be an opportunity for you to meet collegiate sorority members who can answer your questions about the campus of your choice.
